LILLIAN Holliday, Vi Hales-Owen and Marion Evans represented Wokingham Bowling Club and Berkshire at the National Finals in Leamington.

They qualified by winning the Berkshire County Ladies Triples.

Wokingham won their first round match against Potters Bar 18-13 on shots.

However, they lost their second match 20-13 to Parkway to exit the competition.

Meanwhile, Wokingham beat Tilehurst 118-113 in a mixed friendly.

Their top rink consisted of skip Colin Musto, Jill Thorne, Ken Marshall and Margaret Allen (plus 11 shots).

Wokingham Ladies thrashed Hawley 85-26 in a friendly, with Jill Thorne, Jenni Macgregor and Margaret Allen winning their match 40-3.

Wokingham men lost 102-70 to Camberley in a friendly.

Wokingham Acorns defeated Maidenhead Town 63-48 in Thames Valley Ladies League Division One.

Anne Parker, Marion Evans and Pat Boswell were the top triple, winning by 12 shots.

Wokingham lost to Desborough in singles, pairs, triples and rinks in a 154-139 East Berkshire Floodlight League defeat.

  • SUNNINGDALE Bowling Club Ladies lost 61-41 to Desborough Bluebells in Tames Valley Ladies League.

Winning rink for Sunningdale: Janet Spencer, Gill Dickson, Kathy Edwards(skip).

The ladies were also beaten at WIndlesham despite Sheila Sparks, Pam Kiddell and Kathy Edwards(skip) winning their rink.

Sunning claimed victory against Fordbridge in a mixed friendly. Highest scoring rink was Colin Shefford, Mike Thompson, Lynn Gorringe(skip).

Meanwhile, Sunningdale will hold their club finals this Saturday and Sunday.
