SLOUGH Town recorded a comprehensive 3-0 win against St Ives Town in their final match at Holloways Park on Saturday.

The Rebels have used the stadium in Beaconsfield as their home ground since 2007, but will move back into the borough of Slough at Arbour Park on August 29.

It will be the first time in over a decade that Slough play in the town and there is a great buzz around the club, but they have had to maintain their concentration on the pitch.

Rebels joint-boss Jon Underwood challenged Slough to keep pace with the Southern Premier Division leaders, and Sean Fraser believes they were dominant in victory over St Ives.

“It was a comprehensive win. We dominated the game throughout and played some good stuff at times. It’s great to score three goals and keep a clean sheet,” Fraser told the Observer.

“St Ives had two good wins last week so you could say they were high on confidence, but I think the way we played maybe shut them down a little bit and stopped them playing. The way they probably did in the last two games.

“I think we just dominated the possession, created a lot more chances and scored some good goals.”

Goals from Guy Hollis, Charlie Moone and Lee Barney gave Slough a comfortable victory at Holloways Park, and Fraser suggested it was their best performance of the season.

The Rebels captain said: “I think we’ve played well throughout the season but obviously the scoreline suggests it’s our best performance.

“I think we’ve been really good. It’s been all positive with the new editions to the squad. We are all gelling and getting better as the games go on which is important leading into the new ground, so it’s exciting times for the club.

“It’s still early days but I think we’re going the right way and there are high ambitions this season. We definitely want to be there or thereabouts. I think that’s the way we want to go, so that is the aim.”

The win sees Slough stand fifth in the league table with 10 points from five matches ahead of a visit to Cirencester Town this Saturday (3pm).
