TWYFORD BC finished off their Kennet League season on a high with an 87-76 (10-4 on points) victory at home against Maiden Erlegh.

It was a disappointing night for the visitors who had been on top of the table for most of the season but, with the chasing teams both having big wins, they slip back into third place and just miss out on promotion.

Phil Rose inflicted most of the damage with a 31-14 victory along with Tony Turner, Dave Johnson and Wayne Manley, while Barry Carter held on to a three-shot lead to provide the other winning rink (21-18), together with Jim Turner, Tony Phillips and Mick Walker.

Twyford finish in fourth place in the table on 120 points.

In the Kennet LX League, Twyford lost 61-39 at Royal Household, failing to pick up any points for the second week running.

Paul Hynes, Bob Wright and Jim Turner did best for Twyford – who finished fifth – losing 20-17 after a spirited late fight back.
