HURST dropped to fourth in the table after visitors Burnham 2nds had the better of their Division 2b draw, writes Max Baker-Smith.

The away side put on an impressive 264-7 in their 52 overs – deciding to bat their full allocation instead of declaring – and Hurst never looked likely to chase the score down, with their innings ending on 162-6.

Hurst visit Thatcham Town this Saturday (12.30pm).

Wargrave lost to Beaconsfield by three wickets.

Skipper Neal Robinson (54) scored the only half century for Wargrave as they struggled to 201-9 off their overs, Sam Musk (5-50) the pick of the Beaconsfield bowlers.

Chris Thomas and Jason Harrison (both 55) then built good innings for their team as they chased the score down fairly comfortably.

Kidmore End thrashed Tring Park 2nds by 202 runs in Division 2a.

Jake Easton (86) top scored opening the batting for Kidmore, with his excellent knock leading his side to 235-7. Abid Ul-Wahab (8-16) then bowled an extraordinary nine-over spell for his side as Tring had no answer to his bowling, skittled for just 33.

Kidmore End host Chenies & Latimer this Saturday (12.30pm).

In Division 3a, Purley-on-Thames drew with Cove 2nds.

An impressive opening stand of 101 was broken when Pat Allen (44) departed, before Max Baker-Smith (63) fell quickly after.

This sparked a small collapse for the Potters, but Robbie Jeffrey (69) continued his good form to see his side to 246-9. Cove (202-7) were always behind the run rate in reply, but the visitors could not find the wickets to secure victory.

Purley-on-Thames are at home to Reading 2nds this Saturday (12.30pm).

Sonning look to have secured promotion from Division 3a after a 10-wicket victory over Reading 2nds.

The hosts were bowled out for just 160 batting first, and Sonning continued their good form by knocking off the runs without losing a single wicket, Peter Dean (99no off just 49 balls) and Duncan Parr (57no) unmovable.

Sonning host Yateley 2nds this Saturday (12.30pm).

In Division 4b, Theale and Tilehurst continue to flirt with relegation after a seven-wicket defeat at home to Fleet.

The hosts were reeling at 54-7, but No. 8 Andy Sharp (52) saved his side embarrassment as they got up to 138 before eventually being bowled out.

However, Howard Bywaters (66no) was there until the end to ensure Fleet crossed the line easily.

T&T visit Chiswick & Whitton 2nds on Saturday (12.30pm).

Sonning 2nds (86) were beaten heavily by Bagshot 2nds and are only four points above the Division 5b relegation zone.

In Division 6b, Theale and Tilehurst 2nds lost a low-scoring thriller by six runs to Aldershot 3rds.

George Coker (5-20) was the pick of the T&T bowlers as Aldershot 3rds were shot out for just 76, but the visitors lost early wickets in reply and fell to 18-6, never recovering as they were dismissed for 70.

Hurst 2nds drew with Cove 3rds as both sides remain mid table in Division 6b.

Kelvin Baillie (66) scored a half century for Hurst as they posted 210-6, but despite Tim Everitt’s (4-44) best efforts, the visitors could not bowl out Cove (196-8).

Purley-on-Thames 2nds drew with Royal Ascot 3rds.

Dan Corsini (95no) top scored for Ascot as they posted 257-7, but Mohammed Arshad (74no) ensured the Potters reached 236-8.

Also in the division, Wargrave 2nds lost at Wokingham 3rds by four wickets.

The visitors could only post 161-9, with Razwan Hanif (53no) top scoring, before Wokingham (162-6) knocked off the score without much trouble.

In Division 7a, Kidmore End 2nds annihilated Theale and Tilehurst 3rds by 163 runs.

Cameron Livingstone-Smith (104no) scored a century to help Kidmore declare on 262-6 after 46 overs, before Will Patey (5-25) took five wickets as T&T were skittled for 99.

Sonning 3rds beat Eversley 4ths by 162 runs in Division 8a. Imran Mehmood (84no) helped the hosts declare on 276-4, before Vivek Vashisht (5-25) routed the Boars for 114.

In Division 9a, Kidmore End 3rds (156) lost to Boyne Hill 4ths (276-3) by 120 runs, thanks to a five-wicket haul from Uman Alam (5-29), and runs from Sajid Mustaq (91).

Wargrave 3rds (104) lost to Yateley 4ths (258-8) by 154 runs.
