SUNNINGDALE BC completed their Kennet League season with a 75-67 victory against Suttons B (11-3 on points).

The top rink for Sunningdale was made up of Steve Hawthorne, Ken Johnson, Don Allston and Brian Webb (skip).

In the LX dDivision, Sunningdale A won 54-53 at Desborough A (8-2), while the club’s B team lost 53-46 at Bracknell (8-2).

The winning rink for Sunningdale was Mike Thompson, Hawthorne and Allston (skip).

Sunningdale beat Burghfield 52-41 (8-2) in the Thames Valley Ladies League.

In the Cyril Hughes Cup, Sunningdale will take a 48-shot lead with them to Bracknell for the second leg this evening.

The highest scoring rink for Sunningdale was made up of Archie Clifton, Gareth Williams and John Forster (skip).

  • GREAT Hollands were relegated from Division Two East of the Kennet League following a pair of losses.

The club was beaten 79-64 (12-2 on points) by Bracknell, and then fell to a 77-65 (11-3) reverse against Suttons.

Against Bracknell, Ray Furnell (18-16) skipped the highest winning rink with Tony Morton (15-21), Dave Sutherby (18-20) and George Harris (13-22) all being defeated.

Brian Rammell (19-16) skipped the highest winning rink against Suttons, with Sutherby (17-17), Furnell (10-22) and Harris (19-22) the other skips.

In the Kennet LX League, Great Hollands lost 52-45 (8-2) to Windsor & Eton, with Sutherby (18-17) skipping the only winning rink.

Rammell (16-19) and Furnell (11-16) skipped the remaining rinks.

The KLX C team drew with Wokingham D 46-46 for a 6-4 points win.

Graham Cripps skipped the highest winning rink (19-12), Edwin Readings won (14-13) and Bill Heffill lost (13-21).

In the Thames Valley Ladies League, Great Hollands Wrens lost 37-28 to Trenthams, but claimed an 8-2 points win as their opponents could only fill two rinks.

Sheila Ledbury skipped the winning rink (18-16) with Carolyn Lofthouse (10-21) on the other rink.

  • WOKINGHAM BC secured third place in Division One of the Kennet League with an 89-62 victory at Maidenhead Town.

The Wokingham top rink was skipped by Alan Symondson along with Adrian Chipper, Andy Franklin and Barry Pither who won 26-13.

In Division Two, Wokingham B finished in third place following an 86-63 triumph against Woodley.

The highest up rink from Wokingham was skipped by David Smith along with Roger Dollery, John Macgregor and Eric Nathan. They won 27-13.

Wokingham C lost 81-52 to Desborough B in Division Three, losing all four rinks.

In the Kennet LX League, Wokingham A won on two of the three wrinks to beat Palmer Park 52-34. The top triple was skipped by Colin Cleverly who was accompanied by Pat Cleary and Len Cooke won 24-8.

Wokingham C lost 62-43 at Caversham B in Division Two.

In the Thames Valley Ladies League, Wokingham Acorns beat Reading 54-42 in Division One.

The triple skipped by Anne Parker along with Shirley Dutton and Teresa O’Connor had a very good win, taking the honours 21-12, while Sandra Thompson, with Elaine Herbert and Jill Thorne, drew18-18.
