GREAT Hollands Linnets beat Suttons 58-41 for an 8-2 point victory in their Thames Valley Ladies League encounter.

Rita Littleford skipped the highest winning rink (22-10), while Jo Sanders’s won (21-12) and Jose Chippendale’s lost (19-15).

The Wrens won 44-29 against Desborough Buttercups, who could only manage to field two rinks, for a 10-0 points win.

Bridget Cruickshank skipped the top rink (27-16) with Shelia Ledbury’s also victorious (17-13).

In the Kennet League, Great Hollands lost 90-59 to Three Mile Cross, taking no points to their opponents’ 14.

Great Hollands A beat Twyford 57-45 (8-2 on points) in their Kennet LX League game.

Dave Sutherby skipped the highest winning rink (26-15), Brian Rammell’s won theirs 19-11 and Ray Furnell’s lost 19-12.

The C team hosted Suttons C, losing 60-45 for a 10-0 points defeat.

The Great Hollands skips were Peter Hurrell, who lost 20-13, Bill Heffill (lost 22-18) and Edwin Readings (lost 18-14).

The D team were also whitewashed 64-41 (10-0 on points) against Reading B. Great Hollands lost on all rinks, skipped by David Harnden (13-15), Bill Cheale (13-27) and Neil Lofthouse (15-22).

  • SUNNINGHILL Comrades Club beat the village’s Bowling Club by two shots to retain the CG Cup played annually.

The highest scoring rink for Sunningdale BC was made up of Archie Clifton, Kieron Farry and Brian Webb (skip), while the Comrades Club’s was Steve Hawthorne, Brian Munden and Paul Webster (skip).

In the Kennet League Sunningdale lost 92-76 at Woodley, the hosts taking nine points to Sunningdale’s five. The highest scoring rink for Sunningdale was Gareth Williams, Colin Shefford, Keith Steele and John Turner (skip).

In the Kennet LX League, Sunningdale A lost 69-32 at home to Maidenhead Town A , with the visitors winning all 10 points.

Maidenhead Town B beat Sunningdale B 48-42 (8-2 on points). The winning rink for Sunningdale was John Boyer, Mike Bateman and skip Turner (skip).

  • WOKINGHAM A suffered their second Kennet League Division One defeat in two weeks, losing all four rinks as they went down 91-66 at home to Suttons.

In Division Two, Wokingham B lost 84-75 to Suttons B.

The one exceptional performance came from the rink skipped by Bob Hales-Owen and including Ted Melber, John Buttigieg and Mike Drinkwater. They came from 17-8 down to win 33-17.

Wokingham C lost 94-63 in Division Three, despite the rink skipped by Paul Dollery of Wokingham along with Andrew Cullington, Les Allen and Ken Martin winning 22-10.

In the Kennet LX League, Wokingham A lost 51-49 at Three Mile Cross.

The final rink of Colin Cleverly, Drinkwater and David Smith won 23-9 but lost two shots on the final end which ultimately proved costly.

Wokingham B beat Woodley A 56-40, where Colin Musto along with Alan Herbert and Barry Woolley prevailed 22-9.

Wokingham C were edged out 49-48 by Island Bohemian A in their Division Two clash.

Buttigieg along with Steve Hales-Owen and Bill Finnie were the top triple for Wokingham winning their game 19-13.
