EXPERIENCED Ravi Godbole helped Crowthorne & Crown Wood hang on for a draw in their Premier Division game at home to champions Sulhamstead, writes Richard Ashton.

Ryan Brown (46) and Craig Palmer (45 from 27 balls) impressed as Sully posted 201-7, before Marc Thompson’s 3-32 put the visitors in control.

However, Godbole, batting at 10, made an unbeaten 26, and aided by last man Sinith Chandran, the pair secured a draw as Crows finished on 142-9.

Table-topping Peppard Stoke Row dug themselves out of a hole in a 177-run victory at home to Welford Park.

PSR crashed to 51-4, but Dan Hayden (52 from 32 balls), Ashley Hayden (89 from 47) and Matt Hopper (43 from 36) counter-attacked in stunning fashion to lead their side to 301-8 in 43 overs.

Hopper (3-54) then starred with the ball alongside the pacy David Williams (3-42), and despite Will Herrington’s excellent 77, spinner Dion Sampson (4-18) worked his way through the Park line-up as they were bowled out for 124.

Second-placed West Reading were held to a draw at home to Emmbrook & Bearwood.

Openers Adam Davidson (126no) and Kazam Kamal (57) were both in good form as Wests declared on 282-7 after 41 overs, but Matt Smart’s 55 and some dogged resistance ensured the Bears ended on 214-8, Hafeez Ul-Wahab (4-54) the pick of the bowling attack.

Kashif Ali hammered a stunning 120 from just 72 balls as Woodley thrashed hosts Mortimer West End by 125 runs.

Reyhan Ul-Din (76) was also among the runs as Woodley declared on 299-9 after 43 overs, with Jay Patel (4-56) the top wicket-taker.

MWE’s reply never got going and Faisal Ahmed’s late burst of 3-9 saw the home side dismissed for 174.

Woodcote had the better of a highly entertaining draw at Ruislip Victoria.

Micky Molloy (78) and James Worsfold (59) starred as the visitors scored 241-7, but despite captain Ryan van Heerden taking 5-54, they could not bowl RV’s out and the home side closed on 233-8.

Division One leaders Berkshire County Sports were stunned by three runs at basement boys Bradfield.

Sohail Abbas took 4-24 to help bowl the hosts out for 168, but Nick Goodwin’s 4-48 led BCS to be dismissed for 165.

Ujjwal Tickoo (72) continued his good form as Checkendon crushed Goring-on-Thames by 193 runs.

Checks made 258-7, and Raj Tiwari (4-26) and Ashish Talreja (4-5) then proved far too good as the visitors were rolled for just 65.

Captain Adam Birch made a brilliant 135 not out as Sandhurst dominated their draw at Sulhamstead 2nds.

The Camels scored 239-4, and despite Mark Godfrey’s unbeaten 88, the hosts could only reach 198-5 in reply.

Chris Webber (4-41) starred as Ibis Mapledurham kept Hawley to 178-8 in their eight-wicket cruise, Tom Osborne (67no) and Dave Drury (65no) making light work of the run chase.

Second-bottom Stratfield Turgis lost by seven wickets at home to West Reading 2nds.

Chris Butcher (58) top scored as Stratfield made 185-8, Usamah Mahmood (4-41) the destroyer-in-chief, but that was nowhere near enough and Waseen Ameen’s unbeaten 53 made the chase easy.

In Division Two, Farley Hill won a thrilling top-of-the-table clash at home to Peppard Stoke Row 2nds by two runs.

Roy Hayden (6-30) was in brilliant form as PSR restricted the hosts to 126-9, but a terrible batting collapse left them 77-9 in reply.

The experienced Hayden and Ian Jackson then embarked on a wonderful last-wicket partnership of 47, only for the former to be run out in a dramatic finish.

Richard Madgwick took 5-51 but his Shinfield side were leapfrogged into third by Crowthorne & Crown Wood 2nds after the away side picked up a 70-run victory.

Crows posted 164-7, but a magnificent spell of 7-14 from Andrew Baines skittled Shinfield for just 94.

Mark Cobb (6-40) was in brilliant form for Emmbrook & Bearwood 2nds, but they lost by 66 runs at home to Waltham St Lawrence.

Asif Ali’s 59 was the backbone of Saints’ total of 205-9, and despite Sanjeev Jain’s 70, the Bears were bowled out for 139.

Division Three leaders Twyford & Ruscombe (115-1) eased to a nine-wicket success against West Reading 3rds (114).

Mortimer West End 2nds won by six wickets at Sulhamstead 3rds.

Madhur Sharma (86) was one of only two players to make double figures in Sully’s 155, and Neil Storkey then made 76 not out to seal an easy win for West End.

A sensational 100 not out by Anish Pandey gave Woodley 2nds (202-6) a four-wicket win at home to Knowl Hill (198-5), for whom Anthony Stott (59no) and Matt Crawcour (57) impressed.

Purley-on-Thames 3rds (142-4) cruised to a six-wicket win at Welford Park 2nds (140), while Ruislip Victoria 2nds conceded their game at Warfield.

In Division four, Hugh Asquith (101) played a superb innings as table-toppers Peppard Stoke Row 3rds bossed their draw at Binfield 3rds.

Pradeep Kumar added 47 not out in the PSR total of 227-4, but Binfield hung on at 150-9 despite a wonderful spell by Taylor Vines (6-24).

Richard Stansfield (72no) and Tim Wilson (62) inspired second-placed Bradfield 2nds (244-8) to a 52-run win against Waltham St Lawrence 2nds (192), for whom 14-year-old Haris Khan made 63.

David McQuitty top scored with 57 as Crowthorne & Crown Wood 3rds (259-6) beat Falkland Development (204) by 55 runs. Andre Le Roux made 68 for the beaten side.

Amit Viroja’s 66 helped Emmbrook & Bearwood 3rds (150) upset Shinfield 2nds (146) by four runs.
