JULIEN Constans had a very good seven days at Caversham Heath, winning the Midweek Stableford Division One competition, finishing third in the Weekend Stableford and being in contention for a place in the Nine Holes Stableford.

Constans (10hcp) won the Midweek Stableford with 39 points, following halves of 20 and 19 points. Runner-up was James Millard (6hcp) on countback from Matt Robertson (3hcp), both with 37 points.

Division Two winner was Caroline Dover (27hcp), on countback from Simon Taylor (20hcp), both with 38 points. Third was Toby Joyce (27hcp) with 37 points.

Twos were recorded by Andrew Bryan and Andrew Robertson (8th hole) and by Constans on the 17th hole.

A few days before in the Weekend Stableford, Constans finished third in Division One with 38 points.

The division was won by Archie Smith (13hcp) with 40 points and runner-up was Stephen Beresford (6hcp) with 39 points. Smith had even halves of 20 points.

Division Two winner was David Cuthbertson (13hcp) with 39 points. Runner-up was Lee Kirton (14hcp) with 38 points and third was John Preston (14hcp) with 37 points.

Paul Lobban (23hcp) recorded a birdie on the 10th hole to pick up five points, and a birdie on the last hole (four points) to finish with 38 points to win Division Three.

Runner-up was Nick Wilson (21hcp) with 35 points. Christopher Searle (20hcp) was third, on countback from Debbie Harris (25hcp) and Daniel Dover (20hcp), all with 34 points.

Twos were recorded by Philip Beresford, Keith Brockington, Jonathan Burnett, Samuel Kpani Addy, Andrew Parker, Daryl Wheeler and Steve Wright (all on the 8th hole), David Stankard (13th hole) and by Stephen Beresford and Callum Peart (17th hole).

Mervyn Jones won the 9 Holes Stableford competition last Friday, on countback from David Holloway, both with 38 points. Third was Seamus Smith, on countback from Constans and Garfield Bryant, all with 37 points. Twos were recorded by Clive Adamson and David Little, both on the 8th hole.

  • CHARLIE Keenan (9hcp) won the Ladies’ Medal at Reading Golf Club with a nett 74, four shots clear of Sandra Purchell (16hcp). Wilma Reed (14hcp) was third.

Lloyd Moore (11hcp) won the June Saturday Medal with nett 67, with Lee Pearce (2hcp) taking the honours on the Sunday with a fine nett 69.
