HUNDREDS of young footballers who achieved success in the Reading & West Berkshire League (formerly South Chiltern) were presented with their trophies at Madejski Stadium on Sunday.

Teams from AFC Newbury, AFC Whitchurch, Cold Ash FC, CSA 07, Eldon Celtic, Highmoor FC, Purley Jubilee, South Reading, Dynamo Tekkers, Thatcham Tornadoes, Thatcham Town Harriers and Westwood Wanderers Under 7s and U8s were all on hand to collect their trophies.

The fair play awards for throughout the league were also presented, with the U7 gong going to AFC Newbury Colts Combined.

The U8s prize was won by Cold Ash Combined, while Purley Jubilee Hammers were the champions in the U9s.

The U10s award went to Thatcham Tornadoes Stripes, while the overall club trophy was won by Cold Ash.

Also in attendance were Wrightchoice CSA U18s, who won the Chronicle Cup with a 1-0 victory against Goring Robins at Madejski Stadium.

That completed a league and cup double for the talented side.

The league is set for an overhaul for the 2016/17 season, with details of the constituion available at the league’s website – www.rwbl.org.
