WOKINGHAM BC crushed Windsor & Eton 104-62 in their Kennet League Division One match, winning all four rinks.

The Wokingham top rink was skipped by Alan Symondson who with Gareth Colebrooke, Andy Franklin and Martin Brailey won their match by 20 shots.

In Division Two, Wokingham B won three of the four rinks to come from behind in an 87-70 victory against Three Mile Cross. The highest up rink from Wokingham was skipped by David Smith, who along with Roger Dollery, John Macgregor and Barry Woolley won their game by 19 shots.

Wokingham C lost all the rinks in their 108-52 defeat to Maiden Erlegh in Division Three.

In the Kennet LX league, Wokingham A beat Caversham 57-42 in Division One.

The highest up triple for Wokingham was skipped by Trevor Gilmour along with John Evans and Martin Brailey who won 22-9.

Wokingham B lost 60-37 to Prospect Park, while in Division Two, Trentham beat Wokingham C 57-38.

Wokingham Acorns were edged out 52-50 by Maidenhead Town in their Thames Valley Ladies League Division One clash.

The beaten side did have a very good win from the triple skipped by Sandra Thompson along with Shirley Dutton and Pat Boswell. They won 21-13.

  • SUNNINGDALE BC beat Caversham 75-70 in their Kennet League encounter, earning 10 points to their opponents four.

The highest scoring rink for Sunningdale was Les Green, Adrian Thomas, Dennis Bailey and Ryan cooper(skip).

In the Kennet LX league, Sunningdale B overcame Maidenhead Thicket A 55-42 (8-2 on points), with the highest scoring rink made up of Les Mathias, Steve Hawthorne, Don Allston(skip).

In the first round of the annual Beake Bowl, a mixed team from Sunningdale beat Byfleet by 24 shots. The second leg will be played on August 31.

The Mayor of the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, Cllr Sayonara Luxton, visited the club recently to plant a rose in recognition of the Queen’s 90th birthday and becoming the longest reigning British monarch.

  • GREAT Hollands beat Desborough B 54-45 in their Kennet LX League game, earning an 8-2 win on points.

Brian Rammell (21-12) skipped the highest winning rink, with Ray Furnell (19-11) and Dave Sutherby (14-22) also leading rinks for Great Hollands.

Great Hollands B took no points from their 55-39 defeat to Maidenhead Town B. Tony Morton (10-17), Fred Payne (17-23) and Peter Hurrell (12-15) skipped for the home team.

The C team played Reading B winning two of the three rinks in an 8-2 points win. Edwin Readings had the winning rink (23-9), with Graham Cripps (18-12) and Bob Rhodes (15-17) skipping the others.
