HIGHMOOR Ibis Reserves came from behind to beat Woodley United Reserves 2-1 in their semi-final at Scours Lane on Saturday, writes Richard Ashton.
Sam Skehan gave Woodley a dream start when he slotted home after five minutes following some fine team play, and his side held on to their lead until the interval.
Highmoor Ibis came back into the contest after the break, and levelled when Gene D’Abreo nodded home from a corner on 65 minutes.
And they went on to take the lead 11 minutes later when Courtney Lawrence finished well.
Woodley threw men forward in a bid to salvage an equaliser and to force the game into extra time, but Highmoor stayed resolute and held on for the victory.
They will take on Reading YMCA Rapids in the final at Scours Lane this coming Saturday (2.30pm).
The Young Men had previously sealed their place in the showpiece with an 8-7 penalty shoot-out victory against Westwood United Reserves after the two sides had played out a 3-3 draw after extra time.
