EVERSLEY held on for a draw in their friendly against Peppard Stoke Row Kites on Sunday.
The visitors made a lightning start as Will Legg smashed 50 inside the opening 10 overs, including one huge six over the pavilion.
He was eventually bowled by Rob Saunders (3-52), who also accounted for Fergus Nutt to leave PSR 66-2.
Under 15 Nick Evans looked in fine touch before he was bowled by Jon Last (2-19), the visitors now 89-4 following the earlier departure of youngster Alfie Burnett.
The experienced Andy Watts consolidated for the Kites and received useful support from Phil Duncan until the Zambian struck a Last full toss straight to cover.
Eversley introduced 12-year-old leg spinner Mark Dickin (2-40) into the attack, and the Hampshire age group wicket keeper bowled well to restrict PSR to 194-7 in 41 overs. Watts remained unbeaten on 69.
The hosts’ reply started disastrously as Satheech Elaganathan (3-14) ripped through the top order, and with spinners Gary Legg (2-19) and Ken Sullivan (1-5 off eight overs) also among the wickets, Eversley collapsed to 51-7.
However, Dickin (21no) and Robin Brooks (24no) saw out the final 20 overs to rescue a draw for the home side, who ended on 95-7 from 41 overs as PSR used 10 bowlers.
