MARK Butland (8hcp) was victorious in both the Gold Division and the Champions’ Championship tournament at Calcot Park on Sunday.

The competition saw all of the monthly medal and other club contest winners from 2015 compete in a 36-hole medal event, and Butland (pictured below left with club captain, David Wyeth) prevailed by carding a nett 75 in the morning and a tremendous 68 in the afternoon (total nett 143), winning by just two shots and bumping Charlie Guest into second place.

The runner-up shot a 76 in the morning and a 69 post-lunch to close with 145.

In the silver tournament, Neil Batts shot 76 and 80 for a total of 156, easing to victory by six shots from Curt van Eyck, who carded 84 and 78 to close on 162.

The bronze medal winner was Trevor Underwood, who shot 78 and 72 for a total of 150.

That was enough for a massive 13-shot victory from James Storey, whose 84 and 79 was enough to take second spot with a combined score of 163.

With all tournament scores competing for the coveted Champions’ Championship, Butland’s 143 took the honours.

Guest came second on countback from Darren Gatward, who shot 72 and 73.
