READING Abbey RFC are celebrating a triple promotion following a sensational season.
The first team had secured back-to-back titles by winning Southern Counties North with two games to spare, but it went down to the final day of the season for the 2nds to seal second spot in BB&O Two.
However, a 42-18 success at Buckingham 2nds ensured they finished as runners-up to Windsor 2nds.
Stand-in captain Mark Hathaway helped create an amazing spirit amongst the team, and coupled with the consistency of stalwarts such as Rob Selby, Adam Penney and Jules Greenaway, ensured they held their nerve during the run-in.
Meanwhile, Abbey 3rds won BB&O Four South by an astonishing 27 points, losing just one of 18 games.
