READING YMCA claimed the Premier Division title in style with a 5-0 drubbing of last year’s winners Marlow United, writes Richard Ashton.

Two goals in two minutes from Jamie Piercey and Matt Drake gave the Young Men a 2-0 lead just past the half-hour mark, and the former’s second in first-half injury time all but settled the contest.

And the new champions cemented their victory with further goals from Dan Donegan and Darrel Fairbrother.

Cookham Dean secured a 13th consecutive win as they improved their chances of finishing as runners-up with a comprehensive 5-0 home win against lowly Unity.

Jonathan Schaaf bagged a brace with Lee Hawkins, Paul Sharpe and substitute Jamie Handscomb completing the scoring.

Jake Dillon, Toby Nowell and Jonny Summers were on target for third-placed Woodcote Stoke Row as they edged past Woodley United Reserves 3-2.

It was the second time in a week Woodley had lost by that margin, having gone down to Unity last Wednesday depite goals from Thomas Male and Sam Skehan.

Leroy Clarke was on target for Newbury but they ended their season with a 2-1 home defeat against Mortimer.

Rock bottom Highmoor Ibis Reserves beat Taplow United 2-0 and AFC Aldermaston drew 3-3 with Rotherfield United.

Division One title winners Westwood United overcame Maidenhead Magpies 3-1, having previously drawn 0-0 at Reading YMCA Rapids.

In Division Two, champions Westwood United Reserves signed off with a 4-2 win at Goring United, while Will Macdonald’s third goal in three games was not enough for Woodcote Stoke Row Reserves as they were beaten 2-1 by Marlow United Reserves. Louis Cordice and Andrew West got the goals which secured a second-place finish for Marlow.

Baughurst AFC ended their Division Three season with a 5-2 home win against Woodley United A. They were also gifted three points when Unity Reserves conceded their game last Wednesday.

Division Four winners Maidenhead Magpies Reserves were made to work hard but scraped past Hurst Reserves 3-2.

Gary Eaton, Sam Clarke and an own goal did the damage for the home side, with Ashley Lamb and Chris Tanner replying for Hurst.

In Division Five, Woodley United B lost 3-0 at Hurst A.
