NEWBURY Blues completed their South West One East campaign with a 13th consecutive victory, eventually cruising past Trowbridge 29-0 and relegating their opponents in the process, writes Richard Ashton.

The hosts did not have it all their own way in the opening half, and they had to wait until the 39th minute to take the lead when Matt Horne crossed in the corner.

Josh Bartlett went over early in the second half, Dan Thorne converting, and another penalty extended the lead to 15-0.

And they set the seal on a wonderful calendar year by securing the try bonus point with two converted late efforts courtesy of Winfield and Iain Herriott.

Newbury finished third in the table but with confidence high ahead of their next campaign following a 14-match unbeaten run.

Third-placed Tadley Tigers ended an impressive BB&O Premier season with an emphatic 88-7 annihilation of Alchester.

Hungerford finished ninth in the table after being crushed 61-11 at home to champions Gosford All Blacks.
