THE Oratory welcomed four teams to its annual Real Tennis Prep School Doubles Championships on Thursday.
Some of the best young sporting talents in the area showed off their skills as they represented St Edward’s, Moulsford, Thorngrove and St John’s Beaumont.
The day began with a coaching session for all those taking part and this was followed by the tournament consisting of two groups of four – with two teams from each school – competing for the semi-final spaces.
The group stages were incredibly close and the standard of play grew constantly throughout the day.
Moulsford eased through to the final while St John’s Beaumont also advanced.
In the final, Moulsford had a slow start and trailed 8-2, but in a fitting finale to a superb event, they hit back to secure a 12-10 victory and the title.
