WINDSOR, Slough Eton & Hounslow (WSEH) Athletic Club became Southern Women’s League Champions at their home track on Saturday.

The team have dominated the league this year, winning every match, despite the best efforts made by other six clubs in the Premier Division, including strong opposition from Reading, Jersey & Guildford.

The strength in depth of the WSEH ladies was particularly evident on Saturday when Under 13 Jamie-Leigh White achieved an impressive 28.3 second run to take the runners-up slot in her 200m race.

Her excellent time places her top of the U13 club rankings for the event and fifth in the next age group up, the U15s.

A strong pairing of Abi Hutchby and newcomer Jennifer Aguebor both achieved PBs in the girls shot putt and discus events.

In the girls javelin, Bailey O’Neill & Ellie-Mae Lothian also gained PBs in what is very much their secondary event.

Elsewhere in the girls team, U13s Madison Foxcroft and Lily Rolfe produced good results against a field of mainly U15 athletes, whilst Diketso Karas and Jade Robinson placed highly in the 75m hurdles.

The senior section of the team featured some of the club’s top athletes, whose commitment and team spirit have kept the ladies at the top of the UK club rankings for many years.

Emily Barrett and Marie Dobson doubled up in the 400 hurdles and flat 400m races to good effect, taking a double victory in the hurdles and a third and first in the 400m.

Dobson was doubly delighted with her performances, which included a season’s best in the 400m.

Further strong pairings of UK U20 rankings leader Amy Holder and UK master athlete Barbara Norris in the discus, top ranked U17 Ellie Chandler and Norris in the hammer, and Irish champion Anita Fitzgibbon in the javelin amassed the team almost maximum points.

Holder also took victory in the shot putt, to make it two in a row. Her partner in the shot, up-and-coming U20, Sarah Melbourne, was delighted with her achievement of PBs in both this and her triple jump event.

Other notable performances from the senior team included wins for U20 Steph Clitheroe in both her 100m and 100m hurdles races and good results from fellow U20, Nadya Wisham in her three events.

U17 Lara Pleace placed well in her 200m and high jump, whilst the middle distance squad of Molly Riglin, Hannah Worthington, Charlotte Firth, Isabelle Rayner produced almost maximum points.
