TAPIWA Mufudza continued his fine form with the bat as North Maidenhead had the better of a draw against Kidmore End in Division 2a, writes Richard Ashton.

North Maidenhead batted first and made a competitive 254-5, and despite Joe Waldron’s 84, Kidmore could only reach 238-9 in reply.

Fourth-placed North Maidenhead visit Finchampstead 2nds this coming Saturday (12.30pm).

Windsor are all but champions after easing to a 51-run win at home to basement boys British Airways.

Captain Mark Huggins (82) led from the front as his side posted 214-9, and British Airways were bowled out for 163 in reply.

Windsor can wrap up the title by taking 19 points from their game at neighbours Maidenhead & Bray on Saturday (12.30pm).

The Home Park side were also in action in a rain-shortened clash against the MCC.

The visitors batted first and John Stevens (51) and Charlie Esson (66) both made half centuries in an opening stand off (111) before the MCC closed on 179-6. Harmeet Chana (3-30) and Rahul Mohindru (2-24) were Windsor’s best bowlers.

In reply, Windsor lost two early wickets but James Mace (80) and Matt Overall (52) put on a quick-fire 88 to take their side to 146 in the 18th over.

The run rate then slowed but captain Mark Huggins with a blistering 32 of 21 balls completed the win with back-to-back 6s into the tennis courts.

James Billington made a sublime century to lead Maidenhead & Bray to a comprehensive eight-wicket win at OMT, with the victory helping them to fifth in the table and almost certainly safe from relegation.

Maids bowled the hosts out for 195, and Billington’s majestic 107 guided his side to victory in the 45th over.

Boyne Hill require just 21 points to seal the Division 2b title, although they had to hold on for a draw at High Wycombe 2nds.

Hamid Riaz (5-62) was the pick of the Boyne attack, but Teddy Casterton’s 110 powered the hosts to 270-6.

Tom Mellor (97) again led the way for Hill in the run chase, but despite Alex Masih’s impressive 49 not out, the visitors were

only able to reach 252-6 in reply.

Boyne Hill will hope to seal the title on their own turf when they host relegation-threatened Wargrave on Saturday (12.30pm).

Jack Barton starred with bat and ball as Farnham Royal stunned title-chasing Gerrards Cross 2nds in Division 3b.

The result also boosted Royal’s survival hopes, lifting them to sixth in the table after a close-fought contest.

Barton (40) top scored as the hosts were bowled out for 197, and he then impressed with the ball (3-23) along with Chris Shave (3-38) as Cross were dismissed for 190.

Farnham Royal are at home to Wooburn Narvokians this coming Saturday (12.30pm).

Sixth-placed Farnham Common are still looking anxiously over their shoulder at the Division 5a relegation zone, after they had to hold on for a draw at home to Marlow 2nds.

Visiting captain Phil Lines (59) top scored for his side as they posted an imposing 293-5, while Isaac Dibsdall was the pick of the bowlers were 3-79 in 19 overs.

Farnham skipper Matt Brown (30) dominated an opening stand of 42 with Dibsdall, but it was the latter who went on to a half century.

Dibsdall eventually fell caught and bowled to Lines for 67, but with Sandeep Bassi (40) and Alan Lithins (51no) also contributing, the hosts closed on 216-4.

Farnham Common visit Chesham 3rds on Saturday (12.30pm).

Division 5b table-toppers Datchet Cranbourne made 238-8, but Reading 3rds held on for a draw on 219-7.

The leaders host Boyne Hill 2nds this coming Saturday (12.30pm).
