WINDSOR FC finally got their Combined Counties Premier League campaign up and running with two morale-boosting victories in the past week.

Mick Woodham’s men struggled to find their form in the opening weeks and the low point came in a 6-0 humbling at Hanworth Villa.

But Windsor have looked back to their best in the past seven days thanks to a 2-1 home win against Badshot Lea at Stag Meadow on Saturday followed by an emphatic 4-0 victory at Westfield on Tuesday.

Suddenly, Windsor supporters are looking up the table once again with the team sitting in seventh position.

And iIf Windsor can continue to put in performances like they have in the past week, Woodham’s men could be back amongst the promotion places in the near future.

Tuesday night’s win at Westfield was Windsor’s best performance this campaign under Woodham, right.

They got off to a dream start when Omar Riaz fired them ahead in only the third minute.

Kyle Lucas doubled their advantage on the half-hour mark before Riaz scored again to make it 3-0 to the visitors on the stroke of half time.

Windsor took their foot off the gas a little after the break but still managed to prevent Westfield from scoring.

And tThere was still time for Windsor to put the icing on the cake when Kyle Lucas netted a fourth in the 69th minute.

That was Lucas’s second goal in as many games after he scored the winner in Windsor’s 2-1 home victory against Badshot Lea on Saturday.

Levi Thackeray put the hosts in front in the seventh minute only for Matt Stamp to equalise 12 minutes later.

Up next for Windsor is a trip to Knaphill on Monday (11.30am). They have also been handed a bye in the first round of the Berks & Bucks Senior Trophy.
