KIDMORE End’s lingering Division 2a promotion hopes were all but ended as they had to cling on for a draw at North Maidenhead.

Tapiwa Mafudza (56no) top scored for the home side as they posted a competitive 254-5, and despite Joe Waldron’s excellent 84, The End were only able to reach 238-9 in reply.

Third-placed Kidmore End are now 34 points behind leaders Windsor, and they host Tring Park 2nds on Saturday (12.30pm).

Hurst completed back-to-back victories in Division 2b with a 27-run triumph at Chiswick & Whitton.

The visitors were bowled out for 175, but hit back to dismiss Chiswick for 148.

Fourth-placed Hurst host High Wycombe 2nds on Saturday (12.30pm).

Wargrave improved their survival hopes with a 74-run victory at home to Slough 2nds.

Luke Taylor (98) led the way in Wargrave’s total of 239-9, and spinners Euan Woods (5-77) and Huw Thomas (4-57) then worked through the Slough line-up as they were bowled out for 165, with Faisal Khan scoring a brilliant 117 not out.

Second-bottom Wargrave are now just 12 points from safety, but face a tough trip to champions elect Boyne Hill on Saturday (12.30pm).

Purley-on-Thames continued their remarkable turnaround with a 21-run win in a low-scoring affair at home to Aldershot in Division 3a.

Andrew Clarke and Patrick Allen both made 37 but a middle order collapse saw the Potters dismissed for 151. 

However, Caleb Maycock (4-33), Robbie Jeffrey (3-32) and Allen (3-42) turned the tables as Aldershot were routed for 130, giving Purley a fourth win on the spin.
The Potters host Falkland 2nds on Saturday (12.30pm).

Sonning lost further ground in the Division 3b title race but secured a draw at home to leaders Marlow Park.

Zahid Mohammed (3-56) was the pick of the Pound Lane attack as Park made 254-8, and the same player led the way with the bat (30) as Sonning closed on 219-8.

They now sit fifth in the table, just 12 points off top spot, and visit second-placed Chenies & Latimer on Saturday (12.30pm).

In Division 4b, Theale & Tilehurst were beaten by four wickets at leaders Yateley 2nds, the Hampshire side surpassing T&T’s score of 182 in the 45th over.

Third-placed T&T are level on 268 points with Eversley 2nds, who have won one more game batting first.
Theale & Tilehurst visit Henley 3rds this Saturday (12.30pm).

Third-bottom Sonning 2nds remain in relegation trouble in Division 5b, falling to 123 all out in losing by 109 runs at Bagshot 2nds.

Purley-on-Thames 2nds sit 14 points behind them after losing by seven wickets to Slough 3rds. Tom Purser made 52 not out for the Potters, but their total of 165 never looked like being enough.

In Division 6b, Hurst 2nds enjoyed a five-wicket win at home to Aldershot 3rds.

The visitors made a solid start after winning the toss, but the introduction of Matt Morrison (6-62) and Ian Harvey (3-64) saw the innings fall apart and Aldershot were eventually restricted to 200-9, before Alex Fillingham (83) and Connor White (42) helped Hurst home in the 36th over.

Cove 3rds eased past Wargrave 2nds’ total of 171 in a six-wicket triumph.

Ram Sankaran made an unbeaten 55 to help Theale & Tilehurst 2nds secure a draw at home to Chiswick & Whitton 3rds. T&T closed on 178-9 in reply to the visitors’ 237-9.
