SLOUGH Town suffered a second pre-season defeat this summer after a 1-0 loss away at Ascot United on Saturday.
Ascot took the lead in the first-half with a Jamie West strike into the bottom corner, after Mark Scott had saved an initial effort with his legs.
Moments later, the Hellenic League club were awarded a penalty after a trip from Wes Harrison, but Scott superbly dived to his right to keep out the spot-kick.
Ascot claimed a deserved win, and Slough’s final pre-season match was at Holloways Park against Wealdstone on Monday.
The Rebels begin the new Southern Premier Division season with a visit from Frome Town this Saturday (3pm).
New Burnham boss Mark Tallentire made a successful return to former club Binfield after a 2-1 friendly win on Saturday.
The Blues scored twice early on but Binfield worked their way back in enjoyed a good spell late in the first half at Hill Farm Lane.
Jemel Johnson pulled one back on 36 minutes, and then set up Imani Likita with a great chance to level before half-time though he was foiled by ex-Mole Callum Whitty.
Burnham complete their pre-season with a visit to The Gore from League Two club Portsmouth tonight (Tuesday, 7.30pm).
The Blues start the Southern Division One South & West season with a trip to Mangotsfield United this Saturday (3pm).
In the Combined Counties Premier Division, Windsor go to Epsom & Ewell on Saturday (3pm).
Holyport start their Hellenic Division One East campaign with a visit to Penn & Tylers Green this Saturday (3pm).

SLOUGH Cricket Club ended a six-match winless streak with a 119-run with away at Oxford on Saturday.

Batting first at The Rover Ground, Slough made a total of 191 all out after 61.4 overs.

The runs were shared out amongst the batsman, with captain Bobby Sher (40), opener Shaan Khan (23) and Feroz Baig (20) top scoring.
Shamilal Mendis took 4-61 for Oxford though his bowling figures were outdone by Slough's Raja Nawaz.
Nawaz recorded an incredible 7-32 to help bowl the home team out for just 72 after 28.3 overs. Brad Sutherland (34) was the only batsman to reach double figures.
The win keeps Slough in fifth position in Home Counties Division One ahead of a visit to Upton Court road from title-chasing High Wycombe this Saturday (11am).
