READING FC will step up their pre-season preparations when they travel to the Memorial Ground this evening for a friendly against Bristol Rovers (7.45pm). Clarke is expected to use the vast majority of his squad, just three days before the Royals host Premier League Swansea City at Wycombe Wanderers’ Adams Park on Friday evening (7.45pm ko).

Three games in six days will be completed in Sussex on Monday evening when Reading travel to Crawley Town (7.45pm ko).

The games will give supporters that didn’t make the long journey to Thailand the first chance to see Royals’ new signings in action.

Ali Al-Habsi, Paul McShane, Stephen Quinn, Jonathan Bond and Orlando Sa will all be involved over the course of the three games as Clarke looks to gel his squad ahead of the start of the season.

Meanwhile, two Reading players that won’t be taking part are Garath McCleary and Michael Hector.

The duo are on the verge of creating history with Jamaica as they bid to overcome United States of America in the Gold Cup semi-final tonight (Wednesday).

The Reggae Boyz secured a memorable 1-0 win against Haiti on Saturday thanks to a seventh minute strike from Giles Barnes.
