    Dog playing pool

The best viral videos are often the simplest. Halo the dog proves that canines can play pool - potting some superb shots even if he can't hold the cue.

    Beatles Rock Band

The music gaming genre is already a crowded one but, as you'd expect, Beatles Rock Band makes everything that's come before look like The Monkees in comparison.

    When building demolitions go wrong

Ooops. You'd think building demolition was fairly straightforward if you used a digger and then some explosives. Nope.

    Giggling bride's a YouTube hit

Exchanging wedding vows in front of friends and family should be a solemn occasion - unless a slip of the tongue gives your beloved the giggles.

    Free Realms

If Blizzcon - taking place this week in California and seeing thousands of World of Warcraft fans pretty much emptying their purses and wallets into Blizzard's already burgeoning coffers - proves anything it's that MMOs are still big business.

    8 bit Lego joy

The most amazing viral videos are those where someone has done something amazingly creative and time consuming. When this is paired with Lego and some 8-bit gaming classics you can't go wrong.

G.I. Joe: Rise of the Cobra

Another summer blockbuster, another hastily cobbled together video game tie in which doesn't quite pass muster? Alas yes, although there's more than enough here to keep a casual gamer entertained for a while.

    Ghostbusters

There seem to be no new ideas in film anymore. As we wait for the Fame remake to hit the screens (the renaissance of legwarmers can only be a matter of time), Star Trek takes its place near the top of the 2009 box office chart and Pelham 123 prepares for release this week. Not so with games though, right? Wrong.

    Restaurant Empire 2

Being a celebrity chef seems fairly straightforward nowadays. Back in the day you used to have to be able to, yannow, cook. Now it's more about being able to swear like a trooper (Gordon / Jamie) or pout alluringly into the camera while making innocent vegetables look dodgy (Nigella). But it's not as easy as it looks, as Restaurant Empire 2 proves.

    Baa-my advertising

Herding sheep could potentially get a bit dull after a while. Unless you throw in some LED lights and a bit of imagination to make something special.

    When Ricky Gervais meets Elmo

Forget moving from Slough's Wernham Hogg to Hollywood, Ricky Gervais' climb to A-list stardom is complete - he's just filmed a guest role in Sesame Street. These are the outtakes...

Smithy takes on the England manager's job

Comic Relief's aim of 'being funny for money' got no better than when James Corden's Smithy ended up at a posh hotel doing a plumbing job and met the entire England squad.

Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games

When are you going to have a chance to try your hand at all the events set for this year's Beijing Olympics, without breaking a sweat?

    The Sims: Castaway Stories

As anyone who watches Lost knows, washing up on a tropical island is only the beginning of your troubles.

    Planet Terror (18)

It feels a bit Emperor's New Clothes to admit this, but I'm not a huge fan of Tarantino, Rodriguez et al. They all seem a bit too smug about their cinematic geekiness – if you don't get the auteurs' vision from the film then it's your fault not theirs apparently.

    Enchanted (PG)

There are two ways to deal with watching a film like Enchanted. You can either sit stonyfaced in horror at the saccharine-like schmaltzfest or you can settle back, throw yourself into the fun and basically be embraced by the cinematic equivalent of a slightly over-enthusiastic but very warm hug. I chose the latter.

    Guitar Hero III

Guitar Hero is fast becoming a game with a franchise to rival Star Wars. But with great power comes great responsibility and GHIII sees a change in developers, something which left long time gamers concerned a Jar Jar type red herring would be thrown into the mix for the latest outing. But fear not.

    I Am Legend (15)

Having one actor carry a film is a bit of a risk. If it's someone good then it's all well and good. But when it ends badly it ends really badly. Now personally I'm not a Tom Hanks fan, so watching Castaway where he spent a great part of the film alone bar his furrowed brow and increasingly beardy facial hair was my idea of cinematic hell. Will Smith as the last survivor of an apocalypse? I was fearful it'd go the same way...
