Cllr Chris Maskell
ROY Smith (Chronicle, May 14) is wrong to criticise Cllr Chris Maskell for objecting to a recent planning application in Western Elms Avenue.
Whatever the merits or otherwise of major town developments in the past, this particular developer has submitted repeated applications, all of which have been refused, and appeals, all of which have been dismissed, in attempts to build on the back gardens of these lovely old Victorian properties.
Residents who live in the Avenue are utterly fed up with it and we are grateful to Cllr Maskell for his support, so back off, Roy, I often agree with the points that you make with your usual vigour, but you are wrong on this one.
