I WOULD like to publicly thank all the ladies who came out to support Sue Ryder Care - Nettlebed Hospice on Saturday night by taking part in our first Midnight Walk.

Over 600 women joined us for the 10km walk around Green Park. Before they walked they were entertained by local jazz band the Kings of Jazz who gave their time for free and a pole fitness display. Walkers were warmed up by the staff of Nuffield Health and Fitness before setting off at Midnight.

£50,000 was pledged on the evening, and we now just need everyone to send it all in to us!

Our thanks go out to everyone involved on the evening, walkers, volunteers, Sue Ryder Care staff, Nuffield Health, Costco, Green Park, The Hilton, Premed Healthcare, The Kings of Jazz, and of course The Reading Chronicle for giving us fantastic support in promoting the event!

All the money raised will help to care for hundreds of people from Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire living with long-term illness. Our aim is to help patients manage their care in the best way possible looking after the whole of an individual"s needs be they social, psychological, physical or spiritual, helping them return home if physically possible.

Again thank you all for making a difference and we hope to you all again next year!
