Grocery shop 'overrun' with mice shut down
A GROCERY store 'overrun with mice' has been shut down by the council.
Marwa grocery store, in High Street, Slough, was closed by Slough Borough Council on Monday (6/8) as 'it caused an imminent risk to public health'.
Officers from the council's environmental health team found the store, which sells fresh food, pizzas, rotisserie and Asian sweets, was overrun with mice, there was no hot water or hand wash basins in the shop, no separation in washing equipment from the raw food area and the cooked food area and poor cleaning and disinfecting throughout.
On Wednesday, the council was granted an order forcing the store to remain closed until environmental health officers are satisfied shoppers are no longer at risk.
