MORE than 70% of residents chose to reject an opportunity to allow casinos in the town.
Residents were invited to have their say on whether Slough Borough Council's 'no casino' policy, which ends next month, should be renewed for another three years.
Only 219 responses were received after the public consultation, which ended on May 1, with 166 residents agreeing with the ban and 63 people disagreeing.
The public consultation included writing to councillors and 200 residents on the council's Citizens' Panel. A public survey was also posted on the council's website.
Officers have recommended the three-year 'no casino' policy is renewed at a licensing committee meeting at The Centre, in Farnham Road, on Wednesday. (30)
