Council leader puts forward mayor nomination

THE council leader has named deputy mayor councillor Christine Small as his nominee for Mayor of Slough.
Cllr Rob Anderson also put forward Cllr Balvinder Bains for deputy mayor.
The roles will be appointed at the annual council meeting at The Centre, in Farnham Road, on Thursday night.
Councillors will elect the mayor for the 2012/13 year.
Cllr Small, of Kedermister ward, has eight years experience as a councillor, in three different spells.
She also holds roles on the James Elliman Trust, a charity that aims to improve the welfare of Slough residents, St Mary's School Charity and Slough Safeguarding Adults Partnership Board.
Cllr Sukhjit Dhaliwal will be replaced as Mayor of Slough after a year's service.
