COUNCILLOR Arvind Dhaliwal has been axed from the cabinet as the council leader shuffles his pack.

Cllr Rob Anderson announced his cabinet on Tuesday, after being elected for Britwell and retaining his council leader role earlier this month.

Cllr Dhaliwal, who is the husband of outgoing mayor Cllr Sukhjit Dhaliwal, makes way for Cllr Sohail Munawar.

The council leader, said: "I am pleased to have been able to choose from such a range of talent in the leading group to sit on the cabinet this year and I have appointed those who have shown initiative, creativity and dedication."

Cllr Munawar has been handed the community and leisure portfolio.

Commisioner Cllr Shafiq Chaudhry takes over Cllr Dhaliwal's former performance and accountability role.

Cllr Anderson added: "I look forward to working with them to deliver on our promises, which will be adopted as council policy, and forging our vision for Slough."
