OLYMPIC rower Sir Matthew Pinsent officially opened the £23 million Langley Academy today (Friday November 12).

The school in Langley Road, Slough, has its own museum and is the first in the UK to focus on museum learning.

It also aims to become a centre of excellence for sports, concentrating particularly

on rowing and cricket.

The academy replaces the old Langleywood School which was placed on special measures and has now been demolished.

See next week's Observer for full report and pictures.

Clearly, they're not going to be an centre of excellence for debate or thinking for yourselves ... run around in circles and don't question your superiors, that seems to be the message of Langley Academy

have those poor kids been let back into continue their studies yet?
