A DOMESTIC abuse charity has gained a new patron.

DASH (Domestic Abuse Stops Here), which serves Windsor and Maidenhead, has joined forces with author Sara Davison, who has recently become the new patron of the charity. Ms Davison, who lives in Ascot, has written the best-selling divorce guide 'Uncoupling: How To Survive and Thrive After Breakup and Divorce' and has appeared on media channels such as ITVs’ This Morning, BBC Radio London, and the Daily Mail to discuss emotional abuse and how to escape abusive relationships.

Sara Davison said: “I am a great admirer of the incredible work The Dash Charity undertakes within the community and I’m honoured and humbled to be joining them as patron.

"Domestic abuse is a matter I feel deeply passionate about and I work frequently with both men and women who are victims of emotional abuse, which can be much harder to detect. I can’t wait to get started and hope that, by working together, we can really make a difference.”

Jayne Donnelly, chief executive of DASH, added: “We’re really excited that Sara is joining us as The Dash Charity’s first Patron. Sara’s transformational work with clients experiencing relationship breakdown aligns closely with our own; we both share a drive to enable families to recover from traumatic experiences and move forward positively with their lives.

“Sara’s support and expertise will help to further enhance the impact of the work we undertake in the community and we very much look forward to working closely with her.”
