A DEPARTMENT store has has made its own generous contribution to the Observer toy appeal this week.

Daniel in Peascod Street, Windsor donated four bags of toys and gifts so they can be handed over to underprivileged children in Slough, South Bucks, and the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead.

Warren Du Preez, toy buyer at Daniel, said: “This is close to our hearts.

“We are an independent locally run family store and we just hope the toys will bring some pleasure to those who might not have many at this time of the year.

“The Observer toy appeal is always something we have supported and it is important that others do the same. Christmas should be for everyone.”

We are asking for donations of first-hand toys and gifts for children and young people between the ages of 0 and 19, which we will then distribute to charities and children’s services in our area. This includes the domestic violence charity, Dash, and children’s social services in Slough, South Bucks and the Royal Borough.

Gifts do not have to be wrapped-up, but if they are, please indicate which age the toy is for. Our appeal runs until Friday December 15.
