THE MP for Beaconsfield cut the ribbon to of the revamped Lent Rise Post Office, which will now open for longer hours.

Dominic Grieve opened the modernised post office on Eastfield Road, Burnham, on Friday of last week. The post office has been shut for a month while the work was carried out.

Mr Grieve said: “The whole store and post office look modern, bright, professional and welcoming. This branch is well placed to meet the needs of the growing residential community with extra services and longer opening hours.”

The post office now has two counters, and is open for an extra 11 hours each week due to earlier opening times. Car tax and travel money are among the new services.

Postmaster, Mukesh Patel, said: “Customers are delighted with all the improvements – there has been nothing but positive feedback. The post office and shop really are the centre of the community and we can meet so many of its needs.”, including providing banking services for all of the major banks. The branch’s added services of car tax renewal and a wider selection of foreign currencies are proving popular.”

The upgrade of the Lent Rise Post Office is part of a national drive across the Post Office network to make their facilities more accessible with extended opening hours and open-plan offices.
