FIVE people became trapped inside a lift in an apartment block last night, Sunday August 13.

The lift failed between the ground and first floors at 7.45pm in Lexington Apartments, Railway Terrace, Slough. Two engines from Slough Fire Station attended the situation.

A spokesman for Slough Fire Station said: "The occupants were not in distress, and were quite calm.

"It took us about an hour and a half to free them. We had to contact the lift engineer and were able to release the lift through an electronic panel, once we had the access codes.

"We were then able to send the lift the forth floor and free everybody."
