Firefighters at the Slough station are washing cars again on Saturday - to help victims of the Grenfell Tower disaster.

The crew at the station in Tuns Lane regularly have special days when they use their hosepipes to wash cars belonging to members of the public - raising money for their own Firefighters Charity and other good causes.

Recently they received two trophies from the charity for their efforts, after beating the car washing efforts of other stations across the country to raise £4.928 in September and March.

This time though their efforts will raise money for another cause close to the hearts of firefighters everywhere - after their London colleagues' courageous battle against the catastrophic fire that left so many dead and homeless in West London.

They will be washing cars between 10 and 4pm - subject to not being called out - and members of the public will be asked to contribute to the Grenfell Tower fund to help those left destitute and homeless.
