A PENSIONER was hospitalised after he was beaten up and robbed by four teenagers in broad daylight.

At around 10.30am last Sunday, a man in his seventies was walking in Fairfield Avenue, Datchet, when he was knocked to the floor and his wallet, cash and mobile phone was stolen.

He suffered from cuts and bruised and had to go to hospital but has since been discharged.

Police believe the thieves - described as four males in their late teens - then fled the scene in a silver car.

The offenders are described as an Asian male, a black male and a white male.

Investigating officer Det Sgt David Ireland from Maidenhead Local Area CID said: "This was a very frightening robbery for the victim which occurred in broad daylight.

"We would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident, and would urge anyone with any information to please call our 24-hour enquiry centre on 101."
