A STORE in South Bucks has helped two worthy causes in the community – with the assistance of its customers.
Last week the Stoke Poges Co-op, in Tabard Square, Bells Hill Road, awarded cash from its Local Community Fund to the Friends of Stoke Poges School.
The £2,277 handed over will help purchase a new minibus for the school.
Meanwhile the Stoke Poges, Wexham and Fulmer Horticultural Society picked up £2,064 which will go towards its 124th annual show on July 29.
The fund is raised with the help of customers who have membership cards with the food store with a penny in every pound of Co-op products getting donated.
Local groups apply to become a good cause and, once chosen, customers are told so they know who they are helping.
Justin Smith, store manager, said: “We would like to thank all the members of the community for their support.
He added: “We see a lot of the teachers and kids from the school coming in here so it is really part of the community.”
