A BOYS brigade from Slough learnt about one of the ways to look after the environment.
The First Slough Boys Brigade Junior Section were visited by staff from Grundon Waste Management and Lakeside Energy from Waste, based in Colnbrook, who taught the youngsters the importance of recycling.
The talk, which was organised by the brigade’s lieutenant Brian Guilloud, took place at the Slough Boy Brigade’s base at St Andrew’s Methodist Church, in Merton Road.
Danny Coulston, from Lakeside EfW facility, said: “We take all the rubbish that can’t be recycled – and turn it in to energy.”
Boys Brigade member Daniel Van Kessel said: “I was amazed to learn how much of the rubbish we all make in our homes can actually be recycled – and that new things can be made from it.”
