Football team players from St Joseph’s School in Slough received a new kit this week courtesy of the Slough Town Supporters Trust.

The new red and black strip was presented to the school in Shaggy Calf Lane on Tuesday, February 8 and was offered by the supporters trust as a neighbourly gift.

Daniel Brench of the Supporters Trust said: “We’ve sponsored a couple of kits in the past, but recently we have had to focus on the club with them having to move away.

“Now that they’re back (in Slough) we wanted to get back into the community again and St Joseph’s was the obvious choice, being our neighbours.

“It’s great for us to do it and they all seemed really happy with it.”

Ciran Stapleton, headteacher of St Joseph’s said: “The relationship between Slough Town FC, Slough Town Supporters and St Joseph’s has grown significantly over the past few years, and the donation from the Supporters club of a brand new custom made football kit, has really enhanced this.”

“Football is a major part of St Joseph’s sporting identity with alumni such as Lloyd Awusu, and a number of our students regularly competing at county level.

“Many of our students support Slough Town, so knowing they have the support of the club has enthused and inspired so many more of them to get involved in sport.”
