A SECOND man has died following a double stabbing in Slough.

Police officers were called to reports of a man with stab wounds in Lower Cippenham Lane at 5.43pm on Friday.

He was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and died yesterday evening while under police supervision.

He has yet to be formally identified.

A post mortem examination will take place on Thursday.

On Friday, further enquiries lead the police to discover a second man with stab wounds in Lewins Way, Cippenham.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene and a murder investigation was launched.

The man had been named locally as 59-year-old Dennis Kelly earlier today, and the police have now formally confirmed that information.

A post mortem examination yesterday found he died of stab wounds to the chest.

Police believe that only the two deceased were involved in the incidents.

Investigating officer, Det Ch Insp Ailsa Kent of the Major Crime Unit at Thames Valley Police, said: “I understand that this incident will have caused concern but I can reassure the community that although no arrests have been made, I believe the only two people involved were the two men who have sadly died.

“There is still a scenewatch in Lewins Way as we continue our enquiries in order to prepare a file for the coroner.
