A SOCIAL club for Slough’s senior citizens launched its second decade of service last week.
Slough Senior Citizens Group hosted the event and marked the occasion by launching their new website and offering taster sessions in Keep Fit, Yoga, and Reiki.
Talking Therapies, an NHS service that offers help and support to people in Berkshire suffering with depression or anxiety based problems, delivered a presentation about managing stress.
The group concluded their charity appeal by making donations to Slough Food Bank and Slough Homeless Our Concern (SHOC).
About 80 people attended the event at Chalvey Community Centre on Friday, January 20.
Vijay Gupta, chairman of the group, said: “I am so pleased with everyone’s efforts. Combatting social isolation and loneliness are priorities in our second decade of service.
“This is gripping. Lots of people who come here have nowhere else to go.
“We want to make it social and make sure everyone is fit and healthy.”
