MEN armed with axes burgled a supermarket in the early hours of this morning.

Four men wearing dark clothes, with their faces covered and carrying objects believed to be axes were seen entering the Asda superstore in Telford Drive, Slough.

The men stole "a quantity" of cigarettes before fleeing the scene.

Police were called to the scene at 3.16am.

The tobacco kiosk inside the store was sealed off by police tape when the store opened this morning.

A duty manager from the Asda Slough branch refused to comment.
