A BROTHEL has been shut down in a residential area of the town.
Slough North Neighbouring Policing Team, Slough's criminal investigation department and immigration enforcement executed a warrant and raided the property in Cornwall Avenue, Slough, yesterday.
Reading Magistrates' Court granted a closure order today, closing the property to all people including the tenant for three months.
A charity for victims of trafficking and modern day slavery, Restoring all Hope and Believe (RAHAB), accompanied the officers to provide support and ensure the welfare of the people inside the property.
PC Ian Whitlock, neighbourhood officer for the area, said: “I hope the actions that we have taken today, in conjunction with our partners the United Kingdom Border Force and RAHAB, will show our communities that we will listen to their concerns and act swiftly.
"Today’s closure order sends a clear message to those involved in prostitution that we will not tolerate this and will deal robustly with brothels.”
