A team of 12 officers and four special constables attended the 'Nagar Kirtan' procession through Reading.
Nagar Kirtan is a Sikh custom involving processional singing of holy hymns. It marks the end of Vaisakhi which celebrates the founding of the faith.
Sgt Marie Mathieson was one of the officers who attended the event on Sunday May 3. She said: “It’s always a great honour to be part of such festivities which attracts large crowds of people from Reading and further afield every year. On behalf of my team, I would like to thank the community for showing us such hospitality.
“As well as engaging with the crowds and being visible, we were there to support the organisers and their marshals in ensuring that the event passed off peacefully.”
