RESIDENTS are being asked to think before they call for an ambulance during the industrial action planned for Monday.
Members of Unison, Unite and GMB will be staging a walkout between 7am and 11am.
Another strike on the same day starting at 8am will see members of the Society of Radiographers walking out over pay disputes until noon.
Contingency plans are in place for any emergency treatments but South Central Ambulance Service has asked that members of the public consider their GP, local pharmacy or NHS non-emergency line before dialling 999.
Richard Evans, CEO of the Society of Radiographer said: “The four hour stoppage in October and this Monday’s action are the first time since 1982 that radiographers have gone on strike over pay.”
