POLICE are appealing for information after a BMW reported stolen last night from Tidmarsh was found in the River Kennet outside Aldermaston.
The blue convertible car was reported missing from Tidmarsh Lane at 10.30pm last night.
Police then received reports at 11pm of a BMW car fitting the same description that had crashed into a river off Basingstoke Road outside Aldermaston.
A National Police Air Service (NPAS) helicopter was involved in chasing down the stolen vehicle.
Officers attended the scene but no one was found and the car was later located and recovered by firefighters at 4am today.
