Police warning as burglars target homes with extensions

THERE have been a spate of burglaries where thieves have broken into homes by climbing onto flat roof extensions.
Thieves climbed onto a flat roof extension and broke through a first-floor window at a house in Stoke Poges Lane, Slough, between 2.45-10.30pm, on Saturday (1/9), stealing jewellery.
Then on Sunday (2/9), thieves stole a laptop by climbing onto a flat roof extension and breaking in through a first-floor window between 3-9.45pm at a house in Devon Avenue, Manor Park.
On the same day, at around 9pm, thieves gained entry the same way to a house in Meadfield Road, Langley, and jewellery, cash and computer equipment were taken.
A Thames Valley Police spokesperson said: "Please take care not to leave anything out which could assist an offender, ie. ladders or steps."
