Danson injury scare in GB win

READING'S Alex Danson was stretchered off as GB beat South Korea 5-3 in a thrilling encounter at the Riverbank Arena.
GB had a two-goal lead but were pegged back by their opponents before scoring two quick-fire goals to secure their second win in as many games in Pool A.
The only worry for GB was Danson, who was hit on her left ankle and landed awkwardly, and was forced to leave the field with just three minutes remaining.
On a more positive note, Kate Walsh was included in the squad following surgery on her face while Helen Richardson captained the side after recovering from a hit to the knee in Sunday's game against Japan.
Slough's Nicola White opened the scoring with a mazy run and hit on six minutes, though the Korean goalkeeper was at fault for letting it in at her near post.
Korea equalised on 18 minutes but a crisp Crista Cullen penalty strike put GB back in the lead.
Again, the Korean goalkeeper was at fault, prompting the manager to substitute her moments later.
Playmaker Danson made it 3-1 with a poacher's goal and all seemed rosy for GB but South Korea hit back and levelled the scores just before the hour mark.
However, GB rose to the challenge with two quick-fire goals from Georgie Twigg and Chloe Rogers.
They play their third group game against Belgium on Thursday at 7pm.
