UPDATE: Murdered teenager named after nightclub attack
Detectives appeal to Face Bar witnesses
DETECTIVES are hunting the killer of a 17-year-old who was stabbed to death at a Reading nightclub early today.
Jordan Malutshi, who lived in the London area, was found fighting for life with a serious stab wound to the chest at the Face Bar nightclub in Chatham Street after police were called at 3.50am.
Officers made desperate attempts to save the teenager's life by carrying out CPR at the scene before paramedics took over and Jordan was taken by ambulance to the Royal Berkshire Hospital but he died from his injuries shortly after admission.
The teenager was formally identified during the day and a post-mortem examination carried out by a Home Office pathologist this afternoon established that Jordan died from a haemorrhage caused by a stab wound to the heart.
Chatham Street, which was closed for much of the day, has now been reopened to traffic.
The man leading the murder hunt, Detective Chief Inspector Kevin Mahon, of the Thames Valley Police Major Crime Unit, said tonight: "This was an isolated incident in which a young man needlessly lost his life.
"We have a team of detectives working on the case and are committed to carrying a full and thorough investigation into the circumstances leading to this tragic incident.
"We know there were a large number of people in the Face Bar at the time of the incident and I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has information which could assist our ongoing inquiry, to call us."
